This internet site is a resource for eLearning. It outlines seminar, conference presentations and educational software produced for schools. It is also library of links that can be used to source information from the internet for education and training purposes. The site is directed at schools throughout Australia. The research and development of this software began while affiliated with the “Research and Development Park”, at LaTrobe University, Bundoora in 2005 and 2006. Since then the software has been further developed and is now being made available to schools.

During 2014 a number of multimedia software releases will be made available to Australian schools. Schools will be emailed the information. This email will contain details on how to purchase the software.

Software

“ORGANIZE - a digital video resource” Six short video clips to help students get organized and manage their time. (Series 1 vs 010313) For the Middle Years 5 - 8.

Introduction

These video clips have been designed to assist young people develop organization skills. They are intentionally kept brief to allow staff to use them quickly and to focus student attention easily and present students with only a few concepts to remember. They are useful for all students within the middle years (5-8), they are particularly useful for students that have difficulty organizing themselves. They may be particularly useful for student welfare, year level coordinators, integration teachers, or pastoral care programs.

The videos are provided to schools on a CD. The CD includes:

There are 6 videos:

Video 1: An Introduction to Time Management. This is a general video that raises some issues about how time management is important to adults. and how it is useful to learn some of these skillls in school

Video 2: Morning Routine. Provides an opportunity for students to consider the tasks they need to get done in their morning routine when they get ready to come to school and if they need to improve this routine

Video 3: Goal Setting. Considers what are the goals students need to set themselves at school each week and how they can go about achieving these goals.

Video 4: Using Your Diary. Looks at what sorts for things students should write in their diaries and how these can be used to set goals and achieve.

Video 5: Packing Your Locker. Considers how it is important to keep a locker neat and what sorts of things we need to keep in a locker and how to order those things

Video 6: Packing A Tub. This considers what sorts of things need to be kept in a tub and the importance of keeping the tub neat and ordered

The CD contains two folders with the same six videos: One folder has the videos in (.mov) format - this will run on Apple computers, and on iPad, iPhone or iPod. They will also run on PC if you download the Quicktime Movie player www.apple.com/au/quicktime . The second folder has the videos in (.avi) format that will run on Windows PC.


Professional Development

Topic: Utilizing digital resources and strategic interventions to engage integration students in learning and developing social competencies & life skills.

The following seminar is being offered to schools to assist integration programs. It draws on internet resources and the use of computers to engage students and help them develop social skills.

Summary: This workshop aims to assist staff working with integration students. It looks at how the internet and other digital resources can be used to assist students on the integration program develop social competencies and life skills. It reviews a wide range of personal teaching strategies to assist integration students develop their skills. It considers topics as: basic skills for academic achievement; communication; travel training; money & banking; signs & road safety; tools and safety; shopping; social interaction; diet; friendship development; hygiene, and problem solving.

It supports integration teams to develop a IT strategy to provide integration resources to teaching staff.

It is aimed at Integration teachers and integration aides, for both Primary and Secondary school level. It is practical in nature and provides teachers with software and website resources to use with students.

Schools who have purchased the CD hold a license to run the multimedia software on their school intranet or staff laptops, tablets or desk top computers. They are for the exclusive use of the staff and students of the school that has purchased the software. The multimedia software cannot be published to the internet or provided to any other person in any other form. When purchsing the software the schools name is registered on our database as a reistered user of the specific software version

Terms and Conditions of Sale

Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice from time to time. Schools will be sent an email notifying them of new software as it becomes available.

Australian schools can purchase the multimedia software through a Purchase Order process. Complete a purchase order and provide a purchase order number. Returned Products

Schools have 14 days  from the despatch date on the invoice to decide if they would like to purchase the software or return it. If you decide to return it, you can re-use the packaging it was sent in and it will cost you $1.20 AUD in postage . (Posted within Australia)
